Prtty Peaushun emerged from the creative hands of Hollywood makeup artist, Bethany Karlyn.

In 1993, Bethany concocted a luminous, hydrating lotion right in her kitchen, initially crafted to meet the demands of photo shoots and red-carpet events. She carried her creation in a Tupperware container, glowing up sets and stars around the world.

"I created Prtty Peaushun for my own personal use on set. At the time, I couldn’t find anything that gave the skin the look that I was trying to achieve. There was no existing product that sat on the surface of the skin with a dewy and subtle glow… precisely the look that is our Peaushun. Everything out there was too sparkly or glittery for my taste. In order to get the elegant, sophisticated halo of restrained glow, I started mixing things together and experimenting to get just the right blend so the radiance reflected perfectly both in person as well as on camera. It was also instinctively essential to create a clean formulation even though it wasn’t a strong topic at the time. I just felt I owed it to my clients to use on them only what I would use on myself… and thus, the kitchen version of Prtty Peaushun was born. My homemade blend quite literally lit up every set I worked on... everyone went crazy over it. Their enthusiasm caught me off guard, initially, I thought they were just being polite. But soon, clients and crew were begging me to make batches for them!"

In June of 2006, fate brought Bethany and Tracy Anderson together. Bethany’s agency, Opus Beauty, booked her on a job to do Tracy’s makeup. They became fast friends and continued to work together for years. The first time Bethany applied her magic potion, Tracy was instantly captivated and fell in love with it. Tracy's insistence on sharing this magic with the world convinced Bethany to seek collaboration with a top clean beauty chemist and refine her creation.

On January 1, 2010, Prtty Peaushun made its debut as a pioneer in the clean beauty movement with the multipurpose tinted glowing moisturizer.
